Gboard Now Allows to create Animoji

Several months ago, Google Allo users (do you remember?) Received the so-called “selfie stickers“, a curious system by which we could create emoji packages from a photo of ourselves. This feature has now been integrated into Google’s official virtual keyboard, so we can use it in any messaging application that allows the insertion of images in the text.

To use it we need to download version 7.5.9 or higher of the keyboard, although this option is somewhat hidden: From the keyboard itself, we must make a long press on the comma key/smiley icon that is between the language and the numeric keypad selector. Inside, we’ll see the animated Google stickers along with a new icon with a face shape. When we click on it we will activate the front camera, and after taking a picture of us by squaring our face in the guide box we will see the interpretation of our face with two different styles.

The result does not have to be the final one since its complete editor we can customize any facial element. Once we save the result, a package of states will automatically be generated to use as we wish. We can store as many personalized packages as we want, being available from the aforementioned stickers menu.
