How to Use Hidden Emoticons in Android PC Messages

Google simply could not leave Easter eggs in the web version of the “Android Posts“, which the company launched recently. Users found that with the help of simple codes in the service you can send hidden kaomoji (Japanese emoticons) like ¯ \ _ (ツ) _ / ¯, ಠ_ಠ, | (· ◡ •) | – a demonstration of this is available in the animation below. In this article, we will describe how to use kaomoji and what is needed for this.

How to use hidden emoticons

The kaomoji codes work only in the web version of the Android Messaging application and in the unofficial client for the PC and Mac. In other words, through the program on the smartphone send Japanese emoticons by entering code words will not work. Nothing will work out either in case the mobile device is running Android 4.4 KitKat and below.

To send kaomoji, follow these steps:

Step 1: Check if the latest version of Android Messaging is installed on your smartphone. To do this, launch the SMS application and click the menu icon at the top right (three dots) – if there is an “Internet version of Messages” among all the items, then you have the current version of the program. If not, download and install it from the Trashbox by the link below (most likely, it is not available on Google Play).

Step 3: Match the SMS application on your smartphone with the service on your computer by scanning the QR code (according to the instructions in the site window).
