Microsoft has stopped sending updates to Windows 10 October 2018 Update

The reason is that after the upgrade, some users lose files on the computer.  Earlier this week, Windows 10 users began to complain that the latest major system update, entitled October 2018 Update, removes user files from computers. It seems that the problem is massive because Microsoft has suspended the deployment of the update.

“We have suspended the deployment of Windows update 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users and are currently studying individual complaints about deleting some files after the update,” says Microsoft’s support site for Windows Update.

Microsoft recommends that users who encounter a problem, directly contact technical support. In addition, company representatives are asking all those who have downloaded the update manually, not to install it, but to wait for new patched releases. It is currently unclear how many users have been affected by this problem. Even more strange, it seems that this situation did not arise during the global testing of the “October” update.

Recently, Microsoft has been unlucky with Windows 10. It is worth noting that this is the second time this year when a major update of the operating system is accompanied by serious errors. Last time, the software giant delayed the April 2018 Update for three weeks due to a critical bug causing a blue screen of death. And again the problem was revealed at the stage of deployment of the final release. As for the October 2018 Update, this update was released on October 2. The download link has already been removed from the official site, but the update is still available for download. Deadlines for re-revised release are not yet called.
