Samsung will save smartphones from annoying bangs

The new generation of Samsung displays will get an integrated fingerprint scanner, front camera, and the necessary sensors. On October 18, the Samsung OLED Forum event took place in China, where the South Korean company presented its “bezlolochnoe” vision of displays for smartphones.

Samsung’s new OLED displays will have built-in sensors, a front camera, and a fingerprint scanner. Thus, manufacturers, including Samsung, do not have to divert the cutout under the camera, as is customary to do, starting with the iPhone X. In addition, Koreans even plan to embed speakers under the display surface. Perhaps we are talking about bone conduction technology sound. This will allow achieving fair framelessness when the screen takes up almost 100% of the entire front panel of the smartphone.

Most likely, Samsung will not switch to full face recognition technology using infrared sensors but will remain faithful to its iris scanner. The latter still loses in recognition speed of the same Face ID in the new generation of iPhone. The first smartphone with such innovative displays should be the Galaxy S10, which will be presented in early 2019.

But it is also quite possible that Samsung will negotiate with some third-party manufacturer like OnePlus or Xiaomi – surely many will want to stir up the smartphone market with such a unique solution.
